Instagram Culture: The Model

As a fashion editor the people I follow on Instagram is a mix of 10% family, 10% friends and 80% fashion.  Sometimes the fashion and the friends parts cross over. Like Oliver Ruano, a model and artist, from Spain.  I like that Oliver’s Instagram is 60% work, 20% life and 20% love.  And most times, the life and love parts cross over.

As a model the places you travel and the people you meet become your life and sometimes your love.  And his Instagram images distinctly reveal when his work and his love collide.  A GQ photoshoot in Istanbul or an editorial in Morocco or India becomes an opportunity to shoot candid black and white images of the people and the places that inspire.

A modest artist – Oliver creates hand-painted punk jackets. Every once in a while he shares a finished project.
