Today the city of Angels is a true fashion city.
But the success Los Angeles has today isn’t because of celebrity designer fashion shows like Stella McCartney or Tom Ford who’ve both shown in Los Angeles to support the efforts. No, the key to the rise of the Los Angeles fashion scene is the everyday Los Angeles girl. The girl who lives the L.A. life and who dresses in the L.A. uniform. The uniform of maxi dresses, motorcycle jackets, denim on denim, floral midi-dresses, and UGG boots. Los Angeles patent this uniform and now everyone around the world has a copy of it.

One of the leading L.A. fashion events that furthers the L.A. scene is the LA Fashion Market. Similar in style to the now famous Pitti Uomo in Florence, a menswear tradeshow that happens in June, the Los Angeles Fashion Market includes fashion shows which draw a celebrity crowd (celebrities typically live in LA so can skip the jetlag). The L.A. Fashion Market features hundreds of designers and most showcase the traditional L.A. apparel and accessories beloved to the city.
Trademark tradeshows like this have an effect. It draws buyers from around the world and places a spotlight on new design talent. This spotlight can easily catch the eye of big brands. Pitti Uomo drew the coveted Moschino menswear show from the hands of London Collections Men this season. Jeremy Scott moved the Moschino Spring 2016 show from London to Florence where it made its debut at the 87th Pitti Uomo tradeshow this past June. The L.A. Fashion Market can do the same with brands like Band of Outsiders, an L.A. brand, who typically show at New York Fashion Week.

And why not? In addition to the right brands and right marketing the Los Angeles Market garners fashion street style with thousands of native Los Angeles fashionistas and socialites in attendance each day.
Because of course no L.A. fashion event is worthy without the glamouring flashing lights of the paparazzi.
This years Los Angeles Fashion Market is scheduled for August 3 – 8, 2015
